From the President

The Friends of GRSP/HCSNA’s mission is to assist the park by providing financial as well as manpower to make this park the best that it can be. Our mIssion of education has been ongoing by having Saturday morning interpreter hikes led by trained guides into HCSNA. We also provide special hikes when asked to do so. The Friends help sponsor a 3rd grade outdoor education program each October and March. We assist with the Saturday evening interpretive program at the amphitheater. Our membership also assists the park interpreter with outdoor programs and helping man the Discovery Center.

The Friends sponsor a Homesteader Homecoming each spring in an effort to connect with our past. Our annual “Halloween In The Park” has become a community event and is looked forward to by many residents in the area. We sponsor a twice yearly river and park clean-up with the help of scouts, canoe groups, and volunteers. We have a pot luck holiday party in December. The Friends produce and distribute a quarterly newsletter by email and paper copies.  If these activities excite you look on the home page for email addresses and also there is a membership application that can be downloaded.  We would very much like to have you join us in reaching our mission.
